It took just one day to transform me from influencer over 40 to influencer over 50! Oh my my, have I really turned 50 ????? Half a century! Will there be life after 50 ??? These are the questions that bother me today June 4, 2021, the day of my fiftieth birthday. The answers can be found below ….

life at 50I can’t believe it: my life after 50 begins today. I have turned half a century, I am now a museum piece, you have to put me on the showcase as a mummy. How did I get to this age so quickly? Wasn’t I 18 just a few days ago? Didn’t I get my driver’s license yesterday?

Who is this old woman looking at me from the mirror ??? In short, I see clouds on the horizon … and yet … and yet even the influencer over 50 has her reason to be.

There is life after 50

Madame Coco said: “You can be splendid at thirty, fascinating at forty, and irresistible for the rest of your life.”

Life is made up of intimately connected phases. When you are a kid you can’t wait to grow up to enjoy the freedom, at 20 you realize that that freedom costs and that you still don’t have the money to enjoy it, with 30 pedals to earn well and only after 40 you can enjoy the freedom so longed for.

But, until a few years ago, women over forty were considered “old”, indeed “decrepit” and the 50-year-olds were compared to real mummies. In short, the children told you that you were ancient, a certain type of clothing was considered out of your reach, the boys on the bus left you the place even if you were to be scrapped. So after 40 a woman was finished, out of business, not only from an aesthetic point of view but also from a working point of view.

This fact was mainly due to the role that women played in society until the 1970s and to the limited life expectancy of the last century.

Today we live better and longer, and women have almost completely emancipated themselves (certainly there is no lack of male resistance fringes, at work and in personal relationships, which relegate women to only a few roles, but I am sure that sooner or later they will disappear as snow in the sun).

Plus, according to an article by K. Evers published in Harvard Business Review, it’s never too late to become yourself. Aristotle, for example, did not fully devote himself to writing and philosophy until he was nearly 50.

There are also benefits to taking a long and winding path to self-fulfillment. Age seems to be directly proportional to the level of wisdom, resilience, humility, self-knowledge and creativity. This is one of the reasons why the average age of high-growth start-up founders is 45. Citing the work of developmental psychologist Erik Erikson, writes Karlgaard, “the 40-64 years constitute a unique period in which creativity and human experience desire to make our lives important.”

And then, let’s not forget that even the most important celebrities are now over 50, see Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchet, Jennifer Aniston and they still work well.

So surely there is life after 50 also because today we know who we are, we know what makes us feel good, but also what suits us and then we are more aware of what we must avoid. In short, we have already seen more or less everything and experienced almost everything (and if not, what are you waiting for?) And we are more confident even when we do not realize it.

Here I have created all my bearings to land in the 50s in the most peaceful and elastic way possible !!

From influencer over 40 to influencer over 50 in an instant

From today also my “title” changes, but certainly not the content. Of course I was born as a fashion blogger in 2008 and now I find myself with this horrible name of influencer.

I am and still feel like a blogger, I have something to tell and I don’t just post photographs or advertise.

This blog, my social networks are my diary, my way of reaching people I could not know otherwise.

In short, give me back my real title !! And happy birthday to me!

  1. Hi
Oops I think I saw this post ahead of time, so I won’t congratulate you ahead of time because it’s bad luck, you look wonderful in that black dress, you have youth and wisdom at the same time, because age is a number that only exists in our head! I understand your concerns I also have them because in January I will belong to your club ahahah! Great post!
