I’ve been thinking a lot about writing this post.
I like the Falabella clutch a lot, I was almost buying it last year, but when I had the chance to hold it in my hands I was truly disappointed.
It was the metal faux leather version of the Falabella, I loved the shape and the chained edges but at the end it was just a very simple faux leather bag and its price was hitting 600 €! Winter sales were just started but the proud salesperson said “Stella is Never on sale!” as she was talking about a good friend of her.
After walking out of the store I just slammed my eyes on the Alexander Mc Queen De Mantra clutch that WAS on sale and I simply forgot about the Falabella accident….
Now, my question is: would you ever spend that money on a faux leather clutch only because its brand is Stella Mc Cartney ?

Mi piace molto la Falabella , e stavo quasi per acquisarla l’anno scorso, ma quando ho avuto la possibilità di tenerla tra le mie mani ero veramente delusa.
Era la versione in finta pelle metallizzata della Falabella, di cui amo sia la forma che i bordi con le catene, ma alla fine era solo una borsa molto semplice in finta pelle e il suo prezzo si aggirava sui 600 €!
I saldi invernali erano appena iniziati, ma la commessa ha detto orgogliosa
“Stella non è mai in saldo!” come se stesse parlando di una buon amica .
Dopo essere uscita dal negozio ho subito incollato gli occhi sulla clutch De Mantra di Alexander Mc Queen che era in saldo e ho semplicemente dimenticato l’incidente Falabella ….
Ora, la mia domanda è: ma voi spendereste tanti soldi per una borsa in finta pelle solo perchè è di Stella Mc Cartney?

That would be hard. That is one thing that I don't like about Stella McCartney designs, all of her shoes are faux leather too as far as I know. I wanted some shoes from her line but I didn't get them because they were faux leather. Instead I got a Fabulous Pair of Louboutins for a few dollars more that are real leather. I agree with your decision on this one.
I think it is wrong for her to charge that much for faux leather. Sorry that I am so opinionated lol. I think that real leather is synonymous with quality and high price. Maybe I am just old fashioned.
Buongiorno Selvaggia. Anche a me piace un sacco la Falabella, ma sinceramente 600 euro per una semplicissima borsa nera in finta pelle mi sembrano un pochino eccessivi… Infatti anche io non mi sono posta il problema.
Secondo me hai fatto bene a ripiegare su Mc Queen: io la Falabella l'avrei lasciata lì solo per la risposta della commessa!!!
la mia risposta è no!anke se fosse in vera pelle ahahah! lo trovo molto esagerato cm prezzo,laborsa la trovo molto carina ma nn vale tutti quei soldi!La commessa nn mi ha fatto molta simpatia XD
beautiful clutch! been trying NOT to buy something just because of it's name. better to just buy something you love. but i guess if you love a stella clutch, then buy it!

I agree with Sada and Emma, it's too much for faux leather. As a vegetarian myself (i do still wear leather) i can understand that people have issues with leather, but i think it's cheeky to charge so much.

Come se non bastasse qs falabella (io ne possiedo il modello grande) è super inflazionata.
Qualora capitasse nel fantastico negozio vintage (second hand Chanel, Hermes, Vuitton)di mia suocera a meta' prezzo ti avviso cara….

Ho letto che Stella McCartney è stata cresciuta dai genitori nell'osservanza del vegetarianesimo e del rispetto per l'ambiente e che tutti i suoi prodotti sono fatti rigorosamente di materiali sintetici prodotti nel rispetto dell'ambiente. Sarebbe a dire (lo spiegò lei in un'intervista ad Elle Germania più di un anno fa) che tutto il processo produttivo è impostato in modo da ridurre al massimo l'impatto ambientale: tutta l'acqua usata per produrre la similpelle, ad esempio, è completamente depurata alla fine del processo produttivo, etc. etc. etc.
Se poi è vero, non lo so. Ma di certo mi sembra un modo più carino per giustificare un prezzo alto. Altre griffes (vedere Vuitton) ti fanno pagare il marchio ed il fatto che alle stars più o meno grandi le borse le regalano..
Brunhi e questo è quello che apprezzo molto di lei davvero. Ma anche montando su tutta la linea come ha fatto lei i costi degli accessori sono eccessivi secondo me. Che poi LV ti venda una borsa in tela monogram ad una cifra incredibile sono d'accordissimo e infatti non mi compro nemmeno quella, per mia scelta personale.
Io mi riferio più ad Alexander Mc Queen che almeno fino al matrimonio di Kate e William ti vendeva delle bellissime pochette in pelle ad un prezzo simil Zara (più o meno)
Eh, però credi davvero che anche McQueen a Lady Gaga, Kate Moss o Naomi i vestiti li faccia pagare..? 😉

Hi Francesca! I just saw ur comment on my blog & had to pop over to see your Stella post. Is her use of faux leather an animal rights thing? II wonder. Regardless, that is TOO MUCH $$$$$ for faux leather!! Sorry, I wouldn't do it either (unless maybe she donated a large portion to charity!) I think u made the right choice! Great post as always…Very glad you wrote it.
